Today I turn 25. A quarter-century. It's a significant number, I suppose, but I didn't do much in the way of celebration.

As I'm in still in Athens for summer session, and my brother left for Mexico on Friday, I had my cake and presents last week. For today, my parents came to visit, we ate lunch at Longhorn's Steakhouse, and I went to see a matinee showing of "The Hulk." Not bad, overall.

I'd like to make today a turning point. Or maybe not so much a turning point as a focal point. I had my first trial on Thursday, and although I won, I didn't do as well as I should have. I want to do better in the future. I want to learn more. I want to create more. I want to help more. I want to take better care of myself. And I want to waste less.

That's why I'm starting this blog today. In fact, if I do it right, this should be published the minute I turn 25. Perhaps by keeping a public journal of sorts, I can better keep myself on track in accomplishing some of those aforementioned ideals. If it fails, well, nothing's lost. But if it succeeds...
